HRDC works cooperatively with economic development and community development partners throughout the region in the creation of new jobs by providing general planning guidance, technical assistance for specific projects and services to local units of government.

The mission of the Lake of the Woods Economic Development Authority (EDA) is to drive economic development in Lake of the Woods County. The work of the EDA centers on 3 key areas.

• Provide funding and resources to support business growth in the community.
• Develop the capacity of people to contribute to the community.
• Provide the necessary infrastructure to support the economic strategy of the community.

Landsverk and Associates is part of the NoW Innovators Network, providing network expertise on angel investment. Michelle Landsverk, President, is Chair of Pine to Prairie Angel Fund, a Northwest Minnesota angel investment fund that has invested in ten projects. She has also led the formation of Two Rivers Angel Network, which focuses on angel investment in the Thief River Falls area.

She is available to consult with individual businesses who are seeking angel funding as well as consulting with communities interested in forming a fund.

She works with the communities of Fosston and Thief River Falls on economic development, and a variety of business and economic development projects within Northwest Minnesota.
