Northwest, MN Virtual Cohort 2022

This 10-Week Lean Startup Online Program is designed to be FREE ($2,400 value) to all entrepreneurs and soon-to-be-entrepreneurs of Northwest Minnesota (Bemidji, East Grand Forks, Warroad, Thief River Falls, Park Rapids, and all areas in between). This program coaches, supports, and boosts entrepreneurs and soon-to-be-entrepreneurs on their lean startup journeys.

Entrepreneur Meet-up is a weekly gathering of entrepreneurs, mentors, advisors, and others to educate, engage, and connect entrepreneurs. It is modeled after the 1 Million Cups initiative founded by the Kauffman Foundation. Entrepreneur leader in the Bemidji region have decided at this time to take pieces of the 1 Million Cups format but more importantly, make their own catering to the uniqueness of this Northern Minnesota region.

Get “Kinnected” at Two Rivers Entrepreneur Kinnection (TREK), a monthly gathering of entrepreneurs, mentors, advisors, and others to educate, engage, and “kinnect” entrepreneurs in the Thief River Falls area. It is a place to share, learn, and support fellow entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneur Training Course

Through this 4 week on-line course entrepreneurs and emerging small business owners will learn the nuts and bolts to starting and sustaining a business.   In addition, participants will gain a better understanding of the resources available to them within the region to help them launch their business.  

Course Outcomes

  • Educational Program Development: A cohort program assisting individuals in self-discovery.  Individuals will explore promising careers options in the region and principles of business development.  The first cohort will be launching in April 2022.   • Technical Assistance: Providing high quality business job skill and entrepreneur development assistance to entrepreneurs and small businesses in the region.
  • Learning Communities: The University of Minnesota has a vast network of expertise in almost any area affecting Minnesota. The Veden Center harnesses this expertise through the creation of Learning Communities for experts in areas most pertinent to rural entrepreneurs and small businesses owners.

Course Dates and Times: 

  • All course sessions occur online and may be completed at your own pace.  There will also be an optional live virtual meeting (Lunch and Learn) on Tuesdays at Noon for the duration of the course.
    • First session starting week of  April 11th, 2022
    • Second session starting the week of September 12th, 2022 
    • Third session starting the week of November 7th, 2022
    • Fourth and fifth session – TBD

A Forum hosted by Launch Minnesota to discuss topics and questions of the startup community.

8:30 – 9:30 a.m.

An opportunity to learn and discuss the topics facing Minnesota’s startup community. We know many of you have questions, ideas and concerns regarding your business or organization. Launch Minnesota is bringing together individuals from the public and private sector to answer questions and provide support to our startup community.

We will host monthly calls on the 4th Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. The sessions will kick off with subject matter experts and updates, but time will be reserved for questions and discussion.
